Growing Together

A milestone year. We celebrated our 40th anniversary, refreshed our brand, and launched a new strategic plan. We’re more committed than ever to working with all of you to meet our community’s needs.

New staff. We welcomed eight talented new team members:

New board members. We also welcomed three local leaders to our Board of Directors: Jo Giles, Brady Marlow, and Daniel Padilla.

Focus on housing. Front Porch Investments, one of our affiliated supporting organizations, celebrated their one-year anniversary and many milestones along the way, including awarding $7.3 million in funding to advance affordable housing solutions.

Growing Impact

Omaha Venture Group. OVG celebrated its 20th grant season and awarded $26,000 to four nonprofits. You can apply to join the giving circle. They’re also accepting grant applications from nonprofits, starting January 9.

Community Interest Funds. Through our five resident-led grant programs, we awarded $845,000 to 84 nonprofits supporting Black, Latino, refugee, and LGBTQIA2S+ communities, along with neighborhood groups. Anyone can give to these funds. The 2023 grant cycle opens January 1.

Fund for Omaha. Our largest single grant program awarded $487,000 to 22 nonprofits, focusing on promoting racial equity and social justice. Find insights and giving opportunities in our report.

Field of Interest Funds. From these three specialized grant programs, we awarded $163,444 to 19 local organizations.

City of Omaha ARPA Community Grant Program. In partnership with the City of Omaha, we assisted in developing and administering this federal grant program, which awarded $9.6 million to 36 nonprofits.

Worth noting. These highlights only reflect our grant programs. They do not include individual grants from our fundholders. On average, they grant $166 million to nonprofits each year. Learn about opening a fund.

Growing Opportunities

Leadership development. Through our Nonprofit Capacity Building Program, 10 nonprofit leaders of color are participating in a 10-month curriculum designed to unpack and uplift their unique experiences while also increasing their organizational and leadership capacity.

A more generous community. Thirteen local professionals earned their Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP®) designation and celebrated their graduation. Led by Mark Weber, the program celebrated 10 years.
