The Omaha Venture Group (OVG) recently celebrated its 20th grant season, awarding $26,000 to four area nonprofit organizations. The organizations were recognized at a grant night reception hosted at Carson Wealth Management. The event is a culmination of six months of learning about the nonprofit landscape in our community and interviewing various organizations.

“The biggest takeaway from this process is the passion all of these nonprofits have,” said Jamie Pieper an OVG member for five years. “Our role is really we’re trying to figure out what nonprofit group can we have the greatest impact on and help them get to the next level.”

OVG is pleased to congratulate the 2022 Omaha Venture Group Grant Recipients:

“We’re looking for nonprofits to support that are smaller in size and really trying to take that next critical step.” said OVG member Jeff Huether. “We’re happy to be a small part of helping them get there.”

OVG is an established giving circle whose members support philanthropic efforts in our community through a venture capital model of investing their charitable dollars. Members have the opportunity to make small, personal, or employee-assisted donations—then come together to research and award grants to small, grassroots nonprofit organizations. In its 20 years, OVG has funded 164 nonprofits and granted out $716,641.

OVG is just one of the many ways the Omaha Community Foundation is working to address the needs of nonprofits on the front lines of support for the most vulnerable community members.
