Established in 1988, the Fund for Omaha is the single largest grant program at the Omaha Community Foundation, and each year, the response continues to grow.

The 22 organizations funded in 2022 represent 16% of those who applied for grant funding.

Report Highlights

  • We awarded $487,639 to 22 local nonprofits through Fund for Omaha grants, advancing racial equity and social justice.
  • The demand for operating support and flexible grant funding has never been higher. We received a record 140 applications for funding, totaling $3.17 million.
  • Since the Fund for Omaha’s inception 34 years ago, we have awarded more than $9 million.
  • Among all applications, the most common request for funding was related to arts and culture initiatives (26%), followed by vibrant communities (23%) and health (22%).
