Apply for a Grant

The Shelby County Community Foundation’s grants and program mission is to participate in funding community charitable projects and nonprofit organizations that have similar objectives. The goal of the Shelby County Community Foundation grant program is to improve the quality of life in the county by supporting needs that are not being met in the areas of civic, cultural, health, education and social service. The SCCF’s objective is to fund projects that will have a permanent impact for our county that people can take advantage of for many years.

Applicants must download and read the Fact Sheet and FAQ pages before accessing the application form. Incomplete or inaccurate applications will not be considered.

NOTE: Public Libraries, Fire Departments, County Extension, County Conservation, Fair Boards, etc. are among those that require a Fiscal Sponsor.  In these cases, the City or the County Board of Supervisors may be used as a fiscal sponsor.

Additional contact, correspondence, or site visits with Foundation staff and committee members, when necessary, will be conducted following preliminary review of proposals.

Application Information

The Shelby County Community Foundation Grant Program opens December 15th.

Applications will be accepted from December 15, 2018 through February 1, 2019. Only responses submitted via the online grant request portal will be considered for funding.

  • Approximately $115,000 will be available.
  • Grant dollars are awarded for a single year.

About the Shelby County Community Foundation

Part of the Omaha Community Foundation, the Shelby County Community Foundation was established in 1998. The county foundation is governed by a local advisory board of people who are active in our community. The current board includes:
