Inspired by this legacy, Mammel Family Foundation focuses its grantmaking on strengthening nonprofits that serve neighbors with care and intention, especially those in the following areas:

- Ecology and Environment
- Health and Human Services
- Education
The Foundation strives to ensure that its grantmaking continues to make a direct and lasting impact for generations to come.
Grant Program Update
The Foundation has transitioned to an invite‑only grantmaking process beginning in 2026. This allows the Foundation to sharpen its focus and continue its mission of supporting strategic work in the community for years to come.
Organizations within the Foundation’s focus areas may be invited to apply for single‑year awards. This grant program is not intended for multi‑year awards or ongoing operating or programmatic support. The Foundation is not reviewing unsolicited applications at this time, and only invited organizations will be eligible to submit materials.
The Foundation values its relationships with partners and remains committed to strengthening the community. Organizations invited to apply will receive more information about the updated application process. If you have questions about the process, please contact Sydney Calcagno at sydney@omahafoundation.org.
