OCF Announces 2026 Nonprofit Cohort

Because strong nonprofits are essential to a healthy community, OCF has invested in nonprofit learning and leadership development through workshops and training opportunities for more than a decade. Building on that foundation, we are pleased to announce the 2026 cohort of nonprofit leaders participating in the next evolution of this work.

By investing in organizational resilience, OCF is helping nonprofit leaders strengthen the financial practices, decision-making, and planning that support their objectives today and into the future.

The participating leaders represent a diverse mix of nonprofit organizations, missions, and leadership experiences from across our community. OCF selected CEOs and Executive Directors who demonstrated a commitment to strengthening their organizations for the future and a willingness to invest time in thoughtful learning, planning, and peer collaboration. Careful consideration was also given to creating a cohort whose varied perspectives and experiences will enrich the learning environment for everyone involved.

The year-long experience combines peer learning, one-on-one coaching, practical financial planning tools, and meaningful connections with fellow nonprofit leaders. Participants will have opportunities to learn from one another’s experiences, explore new approaches, and build relationships that extend beyond the program itself.

The 2026 cohort includes:

  • Alex Lovrien, Healing Ribbons
  • Andrew Norman, The Bay
  • Annie Butler, Benson Creative District
  • Chris Knauf, Stephen Center
  • Chris LaFerla, Council Bluffs Chamber
  • Heather Kirk, Santa Monica House
  • Jade Rogers, House of Afros, Capes & Curls
  • Jason Feldhaus, Threshold CoC
  • Kalisha Reed, Youth Emergency Services
  • Lenli Corbett Kountze, Saving Grace Food Rescue
  • Talia McGill, No More Empty Pots
  • Tyler Irvine, Fontenelle Forest

“This work is about helping nonprofit leaders strengthen their ability to navigate change and make informed financial decisions,” said Laura Contreras, Director of Community Investment at the Omaha Community Foundation. “The relationships, coaching, and peer learning built into this experience create space for leaders to step back, plan ahead, and strengthen the organizations they serve.”

The cohort represents a substantial investment by OCF in nonprofit leadership and the long-term strength of our community. It is one component of a broader continuum of support we offer Omaha-area nonprofits. As the pilot year moves forward, OCF will gather feedback and evaluate outcomes to better understand what support nonprofit leaders find most valuable and how we can continue evolving to meet the needs of the community.
