The Montgomery County Community Foundation, working in partnership with the Red Oak Heritage Foundation, awarded $34,200 to Montgomery County nonprofit organizations and community projects during its Fall 2022 Grant Cycle. Including these most recent grants, the Montgomery County Community Foundation has distributed more than $2.4 million in grants and scholarships over the last 24 years.

  • Montgomery County Family YMCA – $5,225, Commercial Water Softener
  • Nishna Productions, Inc. – $2,000, Raizer LiftUp Chair
  • Optimist Club of Red Oak – $2,000, Red Oak Optimist Sign Project
  • Red Oak Grand Theatre, Inc. – $3,800, Commercial Sump Pump Backup & Ice Machine
  • Red Oak Soccer Inc. – $3,375, Red Oak Soccer Inc. Equipment
  • Restored Burlington Northern Depot & World War II Museum – $2,000, Attic Insulation and Bat Abatement
  • Southwest Valley Early Childhood Education Center – $2,500, Tables, Supplies and Learning Tools
  • Southwest Valley Middle School – $1,650, Sound Equipment for Sports Facilities
  • Stanton Public Library – $1,150, New Children’s Computer
  • Wellmark Healthy Hometown – Stanton – 1,000, Outdoor Physical Activity/Recreation Equipment
  • Wilson Performing Arts Center – $2,425, LED Lighting Upgrade to Facility

All grantees met the criteria as Mills County nonprofit agencies or organizations with charitable missions supporting community needs in the areas of civic engagement, culture, health, education, and social services. Only organizations providing services in Mills County were eligible to apply.

These grant funds were made possible by the generosity of donors to the Mills County Community Foundation and the following charitable fund through the community foundation: William L. Costello Endowed Fund.

The Mills County Community Foundation works with individuals, families, businesses, and organizations to create permanent and expendable funds—such as those above—that address changing, vital community needs and interests.
