The Mills County Community Foundation awarded $171,400 to Mills County nonprofit organizations and community projects during its Fall 2022 Grant Cycle. With these grants, the Mills County Community Foundation has distributed more than $6.1 million in grants and scholarships over the last 25 years.

The following organizations are Fall 2022 Grant Recipients:

  • City of Malvern – $50,000, Wolverine Trail-Safe Route to School
  • Friends of the Malvern Public Library – $6,150, Art Restorations
  • Glenwood Volunteer Fire Department – $8,000, Technology Grant
  • Hastings Fire and First Responders – $3,000, Old Fire Station Remodel
  • Malvern Park Board – $10,000, Malvern Swimming Pool Accessibility Improvements
  • Malvern Volunteer Fire Department – $15,000, Heavy Rescue Truck
  • Malvern Volunteer Rescue, Inc. – $40,000, Hydraulic Patient Loading System Acquisition
  • Mills County Conservation – $300, Trail Signage for Parks
  • Mills County Historical Museum – $2,120, Winterizing Building Number Two
  • Mills Masquers Community Theater – $4,700, Heating and Air Conditioning Replacement
  • Nishna Productions, Inc. – $10,456, Residential Shower Replacements
  • Oak Township Fire and Rescue – $4,500, Drainage and Entrance Installation
  • Silver City Ambulance – $3,000, Training Materials and Respirator
  • Silver City Historical Society – 2,120, Renovation of New Museum Buildings
  • Silver City Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department – $3,000, Firefighting Hose Nozzles
  • West Central Community Action – $1,054, Updated Food Pantry Freezers

All grantees met the criteria as Mills County nonprofit agencies or organizations with charitable missions supporting community needs in the areas of civic engagement, culture, health, education, and social services. Only organizations providing services in Mills County were eligible to apply.

These grant funds were made possible by the generosity of donors to the Mills County Community Foundation and the following charitable fund through the community foundation: William L. Costello Endowed Fund.

The Mills County Community Foundation works with individuals, families, businesses, and organizations to create permanent and expendable funds—such as those above—that address changing, vital community needs and interests.
