As of December 31, 2019 Sara Boyd, former President and CEO, has departed the Omaha Community Foundation. The official announcement was made to the public on November 6, 2019.

Matt Darling, Executive Vice President, who has been with the Foundation since 2013, is now serving as Interim President while the Board of Directors continues an external search for Sara’s replacement.

Sara spent nearly 20 years with the Foundation and during her tenure was able to grow the Foundation to nearly 1,800 fundholders and $1.2 billion in assets. She has also overseen the creation of Omaha Gives!, resulting in nearly $50 million in giving, the launch of the TheLandscapeOmaha.org with 38 indicators on community well-being, and the growth of Foundation’s grant programs benefitting over 1,200 local nonprofits.

Sara is now leading local technology company, VidaNyx, that focuses on the protecting the video evidence of children who are survivors of abuse. Prior to Sara’s departure, the Board of Directors along with Matt were working to ensure a smooth transition.

“Sara has been integral to the sizeable growth of the Omaha Community Foundation,” said Connie Ryan, current OCF Board Chair. “Her leadership has put the Foundation on the map nationally as a community foundation and has positioned our organization to have an even greater impact going forward.”
