The Omaha Venture Group (OVG) has completed another grant season, awarding $45,000 to ten area nonprofit organizations. Following grant decisions, several OVG members shared that it is never easy to make the final selection of grant recipients, but exciting to see the impactful work nonprofit organizations are doing in the community.
The Omaha Venture Group is pleased to congratulate the 2019 OVG Grant Recipients:
- Benson Area Refugee Taskforce
- Disrupting Traffik
- FITGirl
- Gotta Be Me
- Green Omaha Coalition
- Moving Veterans Forward
- Scare Away Cancer
- The Life House
- Trailblazers of the Heartland
- Victory Riding Academy
“It’s an honor to be introduced to these 10 organizations who are the boots on the ground making a difference everyday,” said OVG member, Ralph Dovali.
OVG is an established giving circle whose members are working to support philanthropic efforts in our community through a venture capitalism model of investing their charitable dollars. Members have the opportunity to make small, personal or employee-assisted donations—then come together to research and award grants to small, grassroots nonprofit organizations. Over the years, the group has grown in numbers to reflect the vibrancy and diversity of our community.
“We were fortunate to increase our membership base to 45 talented individuals this season. These are the folks knocking on doors of nonprofits and working diligently to ensure our funding has the greatest impact possible,” said Dovali.
