Today, the Omaha Community Foundation is seeking widespread resident input through a new microsite that asks six questions to the Omaha-Council Bluffs community.
Launched last month, Voices of The Landscape (TheLandscapeOmaha.org/YourVoice), is a platform for residents to share their experiences living in the region, read what others are saying, and engage in an online community conversation. The six individuals asking questions are active members of the community who have demonstrated an interest in strengthening the area.
Anyone in the region is encouraged to respond to one—or more—question(s) and make their voice heard:
- What do you tell people you are most proud of in your community? – Todd Simon
- What’s different for kids now compared to your childhood? – Lucia Pedroza
- What’s your dream for your neighborhood? – Ferial Pearson
- What would you say to a friend considering a move to our city? – Nikola Halcyone
- What gift in life have you received that everyone should have in their life as well? – Dominique Morgan
- If you could make any lasting contribution to future generations here, what would it be? – Sofia Jawed-Wessel
The project is an extension of The Landscape, which looks at six areas of life through publicly available data. The stories shared on this website will become part of a larger database of qualitative data, and the Omaha Community Foundation will report back these learnings to donors, stakeholders, and the broader community early next year.
Voices of the Landscape is available in both Spanish and English. You can also join the conversation on social media using the hashtag #VoicesofOmaha.
