It truly is a community effort

You hear it all the time. From people who visit Omaha and those who think so highly about what they see here, they make it their home. Omaha is a great city that gets better all the time.

So, who knows better than the people in our community how to continue to make improvements that make a difference to the people who live here? To identify areas and groups who could benefit from our help? To make this an even stronger community? To encourage others to do the same?

It requires a community effort and that’s why it makes so much sense to have a community foundation – the Omaha Community Foundation. Since 1982, more than $840 million has been granted to charity on behalf of our donors. And we continue to grow in the number of donors we serve, the number of nonprofits we support and the good that we do.

Let good grow

As a community foundation, we exist to serve those in our community – from the people who donate to the Foundation to those nonprofits who receive grants from the Foundation. As such, we:

  • Are active members of our community, led by a local board of directors
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of issues and needs within our community, as well as the resources available to help
  • Build support for charitable giving and volunteerism in our community
  • Understand the intricacies of charitable giving from a legal and tax advantage
