Paul and Mary Jessen
Pursuing charitable goals as wisely as financial ones.
Paul Jessen first began thinking about the Omaha Community Foundation as a tool for his business and estate clients at Koley Jessen. Paul has long advised his clients to think about their charitable giving as part of their larger financial plan. He shows them how the Foundation can simplify complicated donations and help donors reap greater tax benefits from their gifts.
The more Paul learned about the Omaha Community Foundation, the more he thought about how it could fit into his own financial plan, his own giving and estate.
Now, Paul and his wife, Mary, give through the Foundation to charitable causes that are important to them personally – like The Nature Conservancy and the Fontenelle Nature Association – and to causes that they feel are important to the community – like the Omaha Performing Arts Society and the United Way.
And the Foundation has become a way for the Jessens to connect to Omaha’s philanthropic and nonprofit communities—to be part of a larger effort to do good.
