Sara Boyd Promoted to President and COO

The Omaha Community Foundation’s Board of Directors unanimously approved changes to their leadership. Sara Boyd, who had been serving as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Omaha Community Foundation, has been promoted to President while retaining her responsibilities as COO. “Sara has provided tremendous leadership in her twelve years with the Omaha Community Foundation,” said Mr. Leighton. “There’s no doubt that her new role will help the Foundation grow in Omaha’s philanthropic landscape.”

In her new position as President & COO, Ms. Boyd will work closely with the board to further the development of the Foundation’s long-term vision to increase giving and its impact on the community. In this role, Boyd will lead efforts to align the Foundation’s resources with the interests and needs of its donors, nonprofit partners, and the community.

Sara Boyd has been with the Omaha Community Foundation since 2000. She’s an active member of several professional associations and has served on and led various regional and national conference planning committees. Ms. Boyd is a longtime volunteer in the community and currently serves in a leadership role on the board or in an advisory capacity to five nonprofit organizations. She is a University of Nebraska-Lincoln graduate and has her MBA from the University of Chicago. She and her husband have three children.
