Philanthropy in the News

The Millennials – A Generation Already Dedicated to Philanthropy

It’s official: the old practice of nonprofit organizations ignoring the younger generation is archaic, and if you’re still ignoring them, you should probably stop and listen to the impact they are creating.  A recent article from the Chronicle on Philanthropy highlights a study that shows not only are young professionals likely to make a monetary donation to charity, but are also more inclined to solicit their family & peers to support their favorite causes.  Simply because the size of the gift may be as large as other more established donors, let’s not forget simple arithmetic: 50 $20 gifts = $1,000, and there are a lot of Millennials out there.

Today we live in a culture of giving back and contributing to community and for that, we should be thankful.  Not to mention that its becoming obvious philanthropy has found its way into our young people hearts and that is something everyone can be proud of.
